"Death! And not knowing anything else. Get out of this dream. And yet, it's scary to die".
These are the first words that Luigi Pirandello wrote in pencil in his notebook when he arrived in Bonn as a young student of Romance philology, around 1890, fascinated by German philosophy.
In the extraordinarily wide and rich work that Pirandello developed from that moment and throughout his life, death becomes a central, constant motif, the counterweight that measures all things in the scales of the soul . In the theater, in the narrative and in the essay, the thought of the Sicilian author, dark and magmatic, is always illuminated by a lucid awareness of death, which connects him directly with an unstoppable life force, with a unbridled desire for life, for beauty, for intensity. This paradox is at the heart of L'home de la flor a la boca , a nocturnal theatrical piece that was born as a story and that we offer you accompanied by another narrative, Un dia , where the journey of life is fulfilled in the course of a day.

"Love is to die every day. Love is not memory, not thought. Love is not something that lasts continuously in time. Through observation, one must die continuously in all things. Then love takes place; and with love, creation appears."
These are words from the Indian master Jiddu Krishnamurti. In them, I feel the beat of the rushing flow that Pirandello discovers beneath the forms and masks with which we try to contain the desire to live. The young man, the old man, the woman. The essential secret of this flower in the mouth.
