The assembly of Els Fusells de la senyora Carrà starts from the basis of the text: the word linked to the actor, and it is, therefore, the work of the actors that gives strength to the show. The interpretation, intense, continuous, is framed in a stripped-down but shocking space, with a visual force that allows us to highlight this interpretation of the actors.
In 1998, Oriol Broggi premiered a first version of the show Els fusells de la Mare Carrà at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, initially as a final career workshop, and shortly after as a professional production in 1999. It was the first time this work by Brecht had been premiered in Spain (and possibly anywhere else), depicting the conflict of our civil war through Andalusian characters from a village in Málaga. The experience was well received by the audience in Barcelona, although the limited promotion from the theaters at Institut de Barcelona and the lack of coverage in the press meant the proposal reached few people.
