From 2 June 2027 at Teatre La Biblioteca
Arthur Miller comes to La Perla 29 under the direction of Ferran Uztet. With a stellar cast led by Pere Arquillué and Mónica López, Mort d’un viatjant takes us to the United States of the late 1940s, where the Lomans, like so many others, live through the tragedy of ordinary people. Where have their dreams gone? Why have they been unable to achieve them, when they were so close?
Willy Loman is a travelling salesman from New York who has journeyed across much of the country, trip after trip, pursuing the success promised by the American Dream. Now, in his sixties, the world around him is falling apart, erasing the aspirations he had projected onto his two sons, Biff and Happy, and driving him further and further away from Linda Loman, who tries to contain the tension within a family in free fall. Unable to come to terms with failure, Willy retreats into his memories and the delirious dream of the life he had hoped for, while driving relentlessly in a straight line towards a capitalist promise that will never arrive.
